Eamonn wins a Legends of Industry Award

Eamonn has won a Legends of Industry Award from the Variety Club for his services to broadcasting and journalism.

The awards, which recognises individuals for outstanding achievements within their own industries, are organised by Variety – a children’s charity which seeks to increase positive experiences for children and young people throughout the UK who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged.

Hosted at the Manchester Hilton Hotel, the black tie awards ceremony took place on Thursday 24th October 2013. Other recipients were hairdresser – Andrew Collinge, writer – Lynda La Plante, Boxer -Joe Calzaghe CBE, MBE, Singer – Sheila Ferguson, Actor – John Thomson and Philanthropist – John Kennedy CBE, DL, KSG, KHS, KMCO.

“I had such a warm reception from the gathered audience,” Eamonn says of his award, “and although I was very proud and a little bit emotional I realised that the real Legends are the people who run or donate to Variety Club and help them with all the tremendous work that they do.”
